what even is peace?
is it pure silence?
or is it a silent mind admist the chaos?
why do we need it?
how do we feel it?
i find peace when i…
breathe
smile
think less
nourish awareness in each moment
sit outside
meditate
practice mindfulness
decompartmentalize
1. peace & happiness are available in every moment, in every step, you just have to take it
do i practice breathing between phone calls?
do i smile while cutting vegetables?
do i relax after hours of hard work?
maybe if i wake up in the morning with a smile, it will penetrate my daily life.
maybe i should brush my teeth with a smile
or make breakfast with a smile
smile as i get ready for the day
maybe a smile really does go a long way
maybe it’ll bring happiness to my soul and to others around me
2. recognizing that breathing is the link between our body and our mind
at times my body and mind are not unified
my body will do one thing whilst my mind does another.
as i breathe in, i tell myself that i’m breathing in
as i breathe out, i tell myself that i’m breathing out .
as I practice my breathing, my mind and body will be calm and gentle
it will become unified.
conscious breathing is an important bridge
3. nourishing awareness in each moment of your life is the small key to mindfulness
something i’ve done to enable my touch with life is realizing how much i appreciate a moment while i’m living it
driving and blasting one direction with my friends as the wind blows through our hair
having random dance parties with my parents in the kitchen
making a stranger smile
complimenting someone’s outfit
i have learned to appreciate the moment
4. withdrawing yourself from what you are doing to feel and perceive the moment
we have to find the refreshing and peaceful elements that can heal us right in the midst of our busy lives.
we need to sustain ourselves by choosing our surroundings carefully
we can and should nourish our awareness in each moment
the present moment is filled with joy and happiness
if you are attentive, you will see it
